[edit] Richmond Tigers

The Richmond Tigers were established in 1885 and joined the VFL in 1908 and won their first premiership in 1920, they have had numerous champions pass through the club, and in rd. 2 1931 a true champ made his debut, "captain blood" spent most of the match on the bench as he watched Richmond win by a record margin 168 points against north melbourne, but the champ had started a long and illustrious career, he went on to win six B&F's and ended up geting the award named after him (the Jack Dyer Medal). Other Champions include Stan Judkins, Jack Titus, Roy Wright, Kevin Bartlett, Francis Bourke and current player, Matthew 'RICHO' Richardson.

Current Richmond Football Club captain Kane Johnson recently won the 2006 Jack Dyer Medal, he kept Chris Judd (West Coast), Scott West (Western Bulldogs), Shaun Burgoune (Port Adelaide) and Simon Black (Brisbane) quiet during the season, and his victory was made even more extrodinary by the fact that he missed four games through an injury sustained in rd. 4 against Brisbane.

This year Young gun Andrew Raines had a fine season and was a deserved runner-up in the NAB rising star award, he is the son of former richmond star of the late 70's and early 80's Geoff Raines, he has brilliant skill and is a marvel to watch, he just signed a new three year deal with richmond and is looking forward to a long premiership studded career.

Richmond have just drafted Jack Riewoldt, Shane Edwards, Daniel Connors, Carl Peterson, Andrew Collins in the NAB national draft.
