[edit] Trivia
- The team is co-owned by Ann Iverson, mother of Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson. She bought the team for $20,000, an average ABA team costs $400,000. [citation needed]
- The team was originally going to be called the Richmond Warriors, but the ABA made them change the name out of respect for the NBA's Golden State Warriors (Ironically, the ABA has a team called the Twin City Ballers, and the Peoria Kings got to keep their name, even with the NBA having a team called the Sacramento Kings)
