Richard Wesley

Richard Wesley (b. July 11, 1945) is an African American playwright, screenwriter for television and cinema, and an associate professor of dramatic writing at New York University.

Wesley was born in Newark, New Jersey to George & Gertrude Wesley. Following high school he studied playwriting and dramatic literature at Howard University and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree there in 1967.

He is married to best-selling author Valerie Wilson Wesley.
