Richard Stone (November 27, 1953 - March 9, 2001) was an American composer. He played a big part in the revival of Warner Bros. animation in the 1990s, composing music for Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-mania, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, and Histeria!. Many considered him to be a modern-day Carl Stalling.
Stone studied music theory at the Curtis Institute of Music. He moved to California in 1980 to work as a music editor for such composers as Georges Delerue (on Platoon and other films) and Maurice Jarre (on The Witness).
He went on to write music for various feature films and television projects, including Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat, Pumpkinhead, as well as North Shore and the mini series, In a Child's Name.
He died of pancreatic cancer when he was just 47 years old. He leaves behind a wife, Cathy, and two sons, Mike and Rick.
