Richard Polanco

Richard Polanco was the California State Senate Majority leader and was a member of the California State Assembly. In 1998, he authored a bill that provided $115 million for after school and summer school programs. He was elected to the State Senate in 1994 representing the 22nd district (Los Angeles). He was elected to the Assembly in June 1986 to fill the unexpired term of Richard Alatorre, who had been elected in late 1985 to the Los Angeles City Council.
