Richard Morris (1939 – 2003) was a poet and organizer. He began the Committee of Small Magazine Editors and Publishers, or COSMEP, in 1968. His COSMEP newsletter guided classic little magazines and underground hippy tabloids right through the War in Vietnam unto the placid Reagan mid-eighties. He published as well witty poetry, fiction and drama.
Beginning in 1979, Morris became known to the wider world as the author of a series of mainstream science books. He had a doctorate in physics. These texts were translated and published to good sales in dozens of countries. But he continued publishing small-press chapbooks of poetry and drama read mostly by his friends and peers. His first posthumous book is The Last Sorcerers. One awaits a generous selection from all his writing.
