Richard Evans (Footballer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Richard Evans is a Welsh U-21 capped footballer currently without a club.
He is a left winger with pace and skill in abundance. Signed by Sheffield Wednesday from Birmingham City on transfer deadline day in 2003, Evans was a regular member of the Sheffield Wednesday first team squad before a cruciate ligament injury sidelined him in September 2003 during a reserve team game. He never made an appearance for Wednesday again. He was released by manager Paul Sturrock in January 2006 after an unsuccessful trial spell at Swansea City, signing for Shrewsbury Town until the end of the 2005-2006 season, making six first-team appearances before being released by the club.
Recently, Grimsby Town have offered Evans a trial.
