Richard Dominguez (born September 22, 1960 in Dallas, Texas), is an American comic book artist and freelance storyboard illustrator.

He created the popular series, El Gato Negro. Dominguez publishes his comics through his comic book company and art studio, Azteca Productions. He is also the creator of Team Tejas.

Richard was the second of seven children, growing up in a section of West Dallas, known back then during the depression as the 'Devil's Back Porch'. Dominguez' early years were brightened by illustrations of chilren's books of the early 20th century, animated cartoons (particularly Max Fleischer's and early Disney), and as well as comic books illustrators of the golden and silver age (Kirby, Cole, Eisner and Kane). Dominguez attended Skyline High School in Dallas and took Commercial Art classes for three years under the teachings of Bud Norton, whom was once a student of Burnt Horgarth.

When Dominguez is not creating comic books,he currently freelances as a storyboard illustrator for several ad agencies in the Dallas area. He also does caricature/butt-sketches for the World's Famous Original Butt Sketch group. Dominguez also gives motivational and diversity speeches for companies and universities and as well as public readings for schools and libraries.
