Richard Bloch

Richard A. Bloch and his older brother Henry started H&R Block in 1955. Richard, a survivor of lung cancer and his wife, Annette, authored three books on the subject, Fighting Cancer, Cancer There's Hope, and Guide for Cancer Supporters. Through the Bloch Cancer Foundation they have helped countless people all over the world. Richard died of heart failure in August, 2004, at the age of 78.
