Richard Bands

Richard Bands (born 25 March 1974 in Mafeking) is a South African rugby union player. He position is prop and he plays for the Bulls in the Super 14 competition.
Bands made his provincinal debut in 1994. It was in 2002 that Bands made his Super 12 (now, Super 14) debut, in a match for the Bulls against New Zealand team, the Chiefs. The following year he made his test debut for the Springboks against Scotland. He also scored a memorable try for South Africa against the All Blacks in the 2003 Tri Nations Series. Also during 2003, he played in four matches for the Springboks in the 2003 Rugby World Cup held in Australia. He scored a try in the 72 points to 6 win over Uruguay in South Africa's opening pool match. An injury restricted part of his 2005 season in the Currie Cup.
