Damnit! Now that we actually have that feature, does this mean I lose those points on the Wikipediholic test? Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 12:32, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ^ beat me to it :(Regarding Portal:Chemistry... I meant to write this earlier, but totally forgot! Ack! Anywho, have you considered using the hiding navframes to keep the portal more concise? I was thinking for things at the bottom, like the list of chemical elements and the categories. It will help shorten the page a touch ... see my page (bottom, the Awards section) for an example. And re:discussion about green on grey above, I like it. Maybe it's just a girl thing ;-) — Editor at Large(speak) 12:22, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Non-something nominationsHi, rd. I admit my portal "nominations" invitations are poorly worded. What I impled but didn't say was that a "featured something" doesn't need to be nominated, just add it. The nominations sections were meant to offer opportunities for "non-obvious" items to be added. I'll have to go back and clarify what I wrote at the other portals. Thanks for confirming my ambiguity! :-) Rfrisbietalk 17:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] MailYou've got some. When you log into the program, wait a few seconds while it queries wikipedia before screaming at your PC for crashing (unless you see an error, of course). Please give me any feature requests, bugs, etc. The watchlist feature does not work. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if I've made a new release. Finally, enjoy! Martinp23

I set it to work at 800X600 displays as well. :-) Rfrisbietalk 03:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re:Mayford Football ClubHaving searched around I found the following which might help: Wikipedia:Notability (organizations) (which is still in the making) and Ways to verify notability. Pretty much what is needed is external sources, a news report or article from a local magazine. The internet doesn't have much (16 Google hits [1]) but that's not the only source. I suppose it doesn't help if you don't live in the area but paper, books, magazines can be used as sources aswell. I found the team website (I think it is) [2] which can't be used for notability because it's self published but for a football club it's quite a comprehensive site so they might get away with it. Hope that helps. James086 Talk | Contribs 23:40, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaryHi there; I am asking you this question here, and not on my RfA page, because I really do not want to appear combative or argumentative, which I am not being, but I do need to know. Is it usual, or expected, to affix an edit summary to a user:talk edit? Because I have just not been doing that - as a person to person communication (I know it's public) it just did not seem necessary. The RfA is going to fail anyway, but I really need to know for next time. I have come to you because your position is clear, and I cannot therefore be thought to be canvassing. Thank you.--Anthony.bradbury 14:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thanksHi Riana, and thanks. It's especially annoying because there are some nice cashmere sweaters at Macy's (I suppose you don't have this store in Australia) that I've been eyeing, and now they're on sale, and I could use some more shoes too, and anyway I'm rambling. Thanks again!--Kyoko 18:03, 25 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] Aryl hydrocarbon receptorBack in September you marked the Aryl hydrocarbon receptor article as too technical. Can you elaborate further about your reasoning? Are you familiar with transcription factors? I guess I wanted to know what ideas/concepts/sections of the article were too technical. [edit] Banning / last changeWell I can appreciate that, and thanks for setting me straight. In the case of vandalism, however, it's not so much the damaging of an article I thought merited an outright ban - it's the fact that three people were listed by name ( first and last ) and described in very inflamatory ways. That would be humiliating for the people named, maybe libel, and brings criticism to Wikipedia. I reverted the edit, but how should extreme cases like that be handled? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.216.188.161 (talk • contribs). [edit] Admin coaching...Okay, locked and loaded!
