A diagram of the Athenian strategy at the w:Battle of Rhium. The numerically superior Peloponnesian fleet (black) is drawn up in a defensive circle with prows outward; the Athenians (red) are sailing around them, compressing the circle so that the inexperienced Peloponnesian rowers will begin to foul their oars. Drawn using Inkscape.
