Rhaunen is a village and a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated in the Hunsrück, approx. 20 km north of Idar-Oberstein.

Rhaunen is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Rhaunen, which consists of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"):
