Qu Rahn was one of the last jedi knights to be hunted down and destroyed by the Empire. Prior to his death at the hands of Jerec, He had a vision of Kyle Katarn's powerful Jedi destiny to defend the Valley of the Jedi. He therefore leaves his lightsaber with his friend (and Kyle's future father) Morgan Katarn, in the belief that Kyle will later find it and use it for good. He features in the PC game Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight

He also takes on a role of master, much as Obi-Wan Kenobi did for Luke Skywalker, as a spirit; helping and guiding Kyle Katarn on his path as a Jedi.
