Copyright 2001 BBC -- image produced for the television series "Son of God" produced by BBC, co-produced by Discovery and France 3. [1] Based on facial reconstruction work by Richard Nieve. First aired 1 April 2001. Image was widely used in news reports promoting the series before it aired. The image depicts a hypothetical construction of what someone from Jesus' time and location might have looked like. It is not supposed to be an image of Jesus himself.
