Hi The Crewman Cresdee John Richard is in fact my uncle. His real name in Jack Richard Cresdee, on his head stone is the name John which the people contacted thought was correct. He came from Gosport in Hampshire was born July 8th 1918 and I share the same name as him. He was one of 10 chidren born to Martha and Harold. I have researched My family tree back to 1769. If anyone has more information on Jacks carrier in the Royal Navy and then the Merchant Navy please post here. The family beleve he died whilst diving on a U-boat in Valletta Harbour.
