[edit] Chithra Ramakrishnan

Can you take a look at this article again? I know that you tagged it db-copyvio earlier, but it is back, and the original author claims he is improving it. I still see no notability, but he removed my speedy tag. I reinserted it, which I probably should not have done. The fact that he is a media consultant really bothers me---is he using Wikipedia to advertise on behalf of a client? If so, db-spam would be appropriate. Or, should I take it to AfD? I'd really like your opinion, if you have a moment. Thanks. ---Charles 15:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, in the meantime, CharlotteWebb has taken it to AfD [[1]], just in case you are interested in expressing an opinion. ---Charles 16:00, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] American Comparative Literature Association

I apologize for my error. I just created a stub for a link I needed in an article I am writing. I was not aware that even a phrase is a copyright violation. I can and will rephrase it so that there is no copyright infringement.

[edit] Haliday's Essay on the Parasitic Hymenoptera

That was foolish of me. The copyright is mine (Robert Nash with James O'Connor), but as it happens I had second thoughts on the suitability of the content. I'll rethink the page.Best regards from Ireland Notafly

[edit] Thank you for editing "List of best selling video games"

I've been monitoring video game sales at my spare time and really like the refined works you contributed on this page. I tried to help a bit by updating NDS and Sega's platinum titles (2 Sonic ones without logging in..^^") in recent hours and notice you efficiently enhance the reference and other games. This is truly awesome quality- hands down!!

PS. I post my appreciation here as I feel a bit overwhelmed to read through and participate the talk page of "List of best selling video games" (I read only 60% of all the discussion war...XD). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Starkawa (talkcontribs) 22:03, 8 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for responding to my Help request. I have lurked here for the better part of 3 years making typo corrections anonymously, and finally decided to create an account and dig in. Have a good weekend. Ugly Elephant 02:52, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Using an external editor

I'm assuming you're on a Unix or Unix-like system. If so, try making sure your TMPDIR environmental is properly set, for example try starting firefox on the shell this way:

TMPDIR=/tmp firefox &

If this solves the problem, you may have to initialize the variable in /etc/profile, e.g.:

if [ -z "$TMPDIR" ]
then
    export TMPDIR="/usr/tmp/$LOGNAME"
    [ ! -e "$TMPDIR" ] && mkdir $TMPDIR
fi
[ -e "$TMPDIR" ] && chmod go-rwx $TMPDIR

If you're using ee.pl you need to make sure you're setting the Temp Path option in ~/.ee-helper/ee.ini under [Settings]. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 05:05, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Link for List of Sailor Moon Locations

would this be a good link for the List of Sailor Moon Locations page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sailor_Moon_locations http://www.geocities.com/lunararchivist/mystplan.html It's a little old but it talks about the places in the solar system that are based on real space locations. Would that be of good use? Neptunekh 04:59, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You did a re-edition on my correction, why?

On the List of best selling Computer Games is Final Fantasy X with 4 mio Units on the References: 9^ Final Fantasy X hits 5 million, world quakes. Computer and Video Games (2006-07-09). Retrieved on 2006-11-26. is this link. There are a few diffrents like that on this list please can you explain me why? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 221.150.38.123 (talk) 14:39, 10 December 2006 (UTC).

Hello there. I notice you did a change, and I reverted back with an explanation. The given reference for FFX sales (www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/finalfantasy10/news.html?sid=2843955) states Square has announced that sales of Final Fantasy X have reached the 4 million mark, meeting company expectations. There is another reference, the one you say, that points to www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=76588, but this article is used as a reference to Populous, FFX. I will replace the FFX reference with the Populous one, so that we can update FFX sales to 5m. Thanks for pointing that out. -- ReyBrujo 16:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sneaky vandalism

Hi Rey, could you review the contribs of User:66.215.28.84? I noticed you warned him yesterday for deliberately inserting false information and he appears to be doing the same today, but I wasn't sure enough of myself to hit rollback on all his edits myself. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look. Thanks. -- Steel 01:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
