Reynolds High School (Oregon)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Reynolds High School is a high school in Troutdale, Oregon. The school is situated on top of a gusty hill with a view of the Columbia River and neighboring Washington. It currently serves about 2,500 students. The school's mascot is the Raiders. The 2005-2006 school year brought the largest freshman class to attend Reynolds, a total of 1,027 students.
The school was named after the Reynolds aluminum company that has a plant in Troutdale[citation needed]. The school merged with Columbia High School in the year 1989-1990[citation needed]. The merging of the two schools led to a strong soccer team that won state. Among other sports teams that have had success are the tennis teams, basketball, volleyball, cross country, swimming, water polo, wrestling, baseball, softball, track and field, raquetball, and chess. The music and arts have had their share of success producing many talents. Academically, the school offers many tracks and offers courses through the neighboring Mount Hood Community College so that students can earn college credit while still in high school.
Reynolds High School's rivals are Gresham High School (Oregon) and Sam Barlow High School.
