Rey Oropeza

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rey Oropeza is a Hispanic American musician from Los Angeles, California, and the vocalist from hardcore punk / rapcore band downset.

Oropeza's father was notoriously killed by the L.A.P.D.

Oropeza was one of the vocalists considered to resume Rage Against the Machine's Zach de la Rocha frontman position after Zach left. Other replacement contenders were Chris Cornell, Chuck D, and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Cornell was ultimately chosen, and Rage Against the Machine transfigured into Audioslave. Interestingly enough, there was much speculation during the mid-90's that Oropeza actually had a feud with Rage Against the Machine, as certain disrespectful lines in early downset. songs appeared to have been directed at Zach de la Rocha.
