Revolutionary Cells

- Revolutionäre Zellen (which translates as Revolutionary Cells) was a group of German anarchistic leftist terrorists.
Revolutionary Cells is a group of animal rights extremists based in the United States.
On August 27, 2003 two bombs were placed on the campus of Chiron (corporation) in Emeryville, California. The bombs exploded at 2:55 and 4:00 AM Pacific time. [1] A group calling itself Revolutionary Cells of the Animal Liberation Brigade e-mailed a statement to reporters taking credit for the bombing. Chiron is apparently a target of violence and protests because it reportedly contracted with Huntingdon Life Sciences, a New Jersey-based animal testing contractor.
Another bombing occurred a month later when the Revolutionary Cells-Animal Liberation Brigade planted a nail bomb at the headquarters of the Shaklee Corporation, which manufactures health foods, vitamins and cosmetics. In an e-mail message following the Shaklee bombing, the group specifically threatens certain individuals. The group also claims that its attacks will grow larger and larger until either Huntingdon Life Sciences is shut down or American cities lie in rubble.
Considering the group's failure to follow up a threat of an imminent increase in its activities following the Shaklee bombings, it is safe to say that the Revolutionary Cells Animal Liberation Brigade lacks the means to continue its terrorist activity. The prime suspect in the Emeryville bombings, Daniel Andreas San Diego, has been identified and is currently hiding from law enforcement officials. It is highly likely that this is a significant blow to the Revolutionary Cells Animal Liberation Brigade's ability to conduct further attacks.
