Revesby railway station is an intermediate station on the East Hills line of the CityRail network. It services the Sydney suburb of Revesby. Revesby has an island platform serving two tracks, but was originally built with only one track. Revesby is mainly serviced by all-stations trains, and is only rarely served by faster skip-stop "express" trains.

[edit] Clearways
[edit] Stage 1
Under the Clearways Project, Stage 1, Revesby will gain a centre turnback platform, with a transit road so that the station can handle two terminating trains at once.
[edit] Stage 2
Under the Clearways Project, Stage 2, four tracks will be extended from Kingsgrove to Revesby, and the all-stations trains travelling via the Airport line will terminate at Revesby, while the fast skip-stop trains travelling via Sydenham will skip stations between Sydenham and Revesby. East Hills will then cease to be a major intermediate terminus, but will be retained as a backup and for emergency and track possession use.
After the completion of the Clearways Project, all-stations trains will use the two inner tracks, while fast skip-stop trains will use the two outer tracks. Revesby will have two platforms to allow passengers to interchange between the all-stations and express trains. The Clearways Project is due to be complete by about 2008.
[edit] History
- Revesby opened with the line in December 1931 with an island platform served by a single track.
- a crossing loop was opened in 1956.
- the line was duplicated at the Sydney end in 1987.
- the line was duplicated at the East Hills in 1987.
- the line became busier with the extension from East Hills to Glenfield in 1988 (?).
[edit] Accessibility
The station will be equipped with Easy Access for wheelchairs as part of the Clearways project.
