Revenga

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Revenga" is the third song by System of a Down from their 2005 album Mezmerize. It is believed by many fans that the meaning of the song is about a man who had a crush on someone that hated him. The lines "I saw her laugh, then she said go away" seem to suggest that he asked her out and she turned him down and laughed at him, and now he wants to take revenge on her ("poisoning a drink, bleeding in a sink, choking with a link, killing with a stink"). Another theory, relates this song to abortion, as Daron has never used the word, baby, to refer to woman, and the lyrics "Woulda been, coulda been, you!", "For the taking, It's in the making, baby,". One more possible interpretation of this song is that a man is stalking a woman and she tells him "go away, away," but he refuses. In her terrified state, she kills him (or plans to kill him)...
