Returning resurrection

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Returning resurrection is a theological concept of the Unification Church. It posits that departed souls can expiate their sins and achieve spiritual growth by "returning" to earth and cooperating with living people to good deeds. One scripture justifying the concept is, "apart from us they may not be made perfect" [1]

[edit] Examples from fiction

In two first-season episodes of Touched by an Angel, Monica deals with issues from her own past: fear of water[2] (not actually a sin) and judgmental attitude.[3]

Note that the Monica character is not an actual angel (being created by God before the genesis of mankind) but merely a dead person serving as a case worker on earth.
