Section titles look better in U&lc, should be changed. NEVER begin a sentence with “There is” or “There are,” especially an encyclopedia article. The first paragraph is not appropriate to encyclopedia style. I think the title of the article should perhaps be changed to something like “Resources for researching Japanese names.” At the very start, there should be a link to the broader article on types of Japanese names. The article as it is looked like the data from Bib 95 has just been dumped into it. Much more explanation is required about each category. Under “Reading Names,” for example, there should be an explanation of why this is such a problem in Japanese, and of the general issues involved, and ways to solve them. For example, it should certainly be mentioned that there are cases where the same person would accept two different readings of their name. Overall, the wholly article is much too listy: bullet lists have their place, but they begin to look like PowerPoint presentations, where logical connections are missing, and the end result is confusion. The article is incomplete: what is the “NICHIGAI WHO” section about? Jb05-Hds2 23:28, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
