[edit] Is this legal?
What a mess. I hesitate to bring up yet another point, because I'm sure it's not going to make this any quicker to resolve.
Is this kosher? Some text in the "Response" section that was added by Stude62 [1] was later deleted by Rananim. [2]
A while ago I took a look at the page history, too. It seems that at the end of Patnaik's edits, the page looked like this, which is similar to (but not an exact copy of) the example page, save for two large differences:
- All of the information is filled in, just as it should be, and
- the "Response" section is missing in its entirety.
Stude62 lated added the section.
Any comments? Am I reading this information wrong? Is this just an honest mistake? --Milkmandan 00:52, 2005 Feb 14 (UTC)
[edit] Questions regarding changes
Since this matter concerns me, I have three questions:
- First, after examples against me are listed within the first 48 hours of the article, can they continue to be listed without any limits? If they continue to be listed, then I assume I have a right to address them, is that correct?
- Secondly, as Milkmandan has indicated, Rananim edited my response. Is another user allowed to change a detail in my response?
- Third, if user:OWURob, sides with those who have brought these charges against me and signs to that effect, is he still allowed to post an outside comment? Doesn't it follow if he agrees with this process and signs to that effect, isn't he considered an involved party and thus not outside of the matter? If he isn't an outsider, should his comments be up to where he signed in agreement with the charges? user: stude62 user talk:stude62 02:01, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Changes
My intentions were to avoide confusion. I sincerely apologize if that was against Wiki rules although I checked them before I made the change and I don't think it is against them. Again, I think and I hope that everyone will agree that this was a step to decrease confusion. Best, Rananim 02:50, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, but why the introduction of the third user name? If your intent was to avoid confusion, why shift everything around at this point? Jrossman 14:33, Feb 14, 2005 (UTC)
- I was trying to see if I could merge the user info for Pnikolov into Rananim...I am not sure if that can happen (wasn't sure) by using the "Move page" feature, but that was my intention when I was trying to test it. I will post a message on the Help desk trying to see if I can get rid of one of the usernames altogether and merge the records. Anyways....hope this answers your questions. [edit] An edit to correct a link
Let the record show that I corrected a spelling transposition in Stude62's response that fixed a link from user:ranamin to user:rananim Jeri Jrossman 15:17, Feb 14, 2005 (UTC)
