[edit] Outside view by User:Mzajac
text moved by User:Jkelly per User talk:Mzajac
- User:Mzajac, this sounds exactly like an "outside view" to me. Would you object to it being moved to the main RfC page so that other editors can, if they agree with it, endorse your view as part of the community's response? Jkelly 17:35, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] My statement
I didn't write the article, I copied it from another wiki. The article "attacks" my own forum where my friends post. Meaning it was an inside joke with the forum members that enjoyed the article on encyclopediadramatica. What I forgot is that the rules of conduct on wikipedia differ from encyclopediadramatica. -Iopq 01:46, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WOW WHAT???
I'm getting blamed for what Iehova did... good job LOOK AT HIS IP IT IS IN ISRAEL LOOK AT MY IP IT IS IN THE USA
Incompetence and false allegations astound me. I even have A DIFFERENT FORUM ACCOUNT THAN THE POSTER. I am iopq on that forum he's Iehova. All I did was put up that article. -Iopq 01:51, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] IP address registration
82.81.3.87 and 212.179.203.216 are indeed both registered to a client of RIPE NCC in Israel. Jkelly 03:58, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Recent Vandalism
Pretty terrible stuff. What's going to be done about it? Look at this guy brag about it: http://s7.invisionfree.com/WC3FORUM/index.php?showtopic=1808&st=10 (Bjorn Tipling 08:49, 5 December 2005 (UTC))
[edit] List of IPs
- 62.219.150.26
- 82.81.83.220
- 84.110.83.191
As for "What's going to be done about it", I'm not sure that there is a need to do anything beyond what we normally do with persistent vandalism, which is to simply revert it. It may make sense to ask a few other editors to watchlist this page. We can, of course, file an abuse complaint with RIPE NCC. Jkelly 17:33, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Offenders forum domain revoked
Well, I didn't file a complaint with RIPE. Instead I tried to find out who the register for the domain name was. Came to find out it was a free domain and I sent an email about what happened to www.Dot.tk and because of the abuse they cancled the domain and they can no longer use it for their forum. Well that's something, I guess, maybe they'll think twice next time about the choices they make.
http://www.wc3forum.tk <--- see they took it down.
Here is the email exchange that took place:
> > My name is Bjorn and I am an editor at Wikipedia. I am concerned about recurring vandalism that is being orchestrated from a site that uses the .tk domain. The domain is wc3forum.tk. It is an Internet forum, from which the forum administrator has repeatedly vandalized Wikipedia pages by posting derogatory, racist, sexually-explicit comments. You can see the vandals brag about their behavior on their forum here: http://s7.invisionfree.com/WC3FORUM/index.php?showtopic=1808&st=0 > > You can see the discussion about this vandalism on Wikipedia on these two pages: > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_comment/Iopq > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Iopq > > I have been trying to get more information about the domain owner, in order to contact the individual or group in order to help us stop this person from continuing to abuse Wikipedia. Is there anything you can do to help? > > Thank you, > > Bjorn > > Dear Bjorn, Thank you for your email. Dot TK is the exclusive registry for the Country Code Top Level Domain for the island of Tokelau (also known as "ccTLD"). Dot TK (.TK) registers domain names globally, through our services FREEDOMAIN.TK, PAIDDOMAIN.TK, SPECIALDOMAIN.TK and TRADEMARK.TK. As it relates to your email alerting us to unacceptable content by a holder of a Dot TK domain, we have researched the case. The user is in fact a FREEDOMAIN.tk registrant, therefore because of the violation, the domain has been canceled and the registrant has been removed from our database. Thank you for your assistance & I apologise for any offense or inconvenience caused. With Kind Regards, Lucy Aplin Dot TK Support www.Dot.TK "Dividing Domains Differently"

- Funny thing is, it doesn't seem as if they've noticed it yet, as due to the nature of their forums (they access it through some kind of frame through a different URL because it's a free message board) it's not apparent to them. Wonder how long it will take them to find out. (Bjorn Tipling 02:27, 7 December 2005 (UTC))
