[edit] Decorum and process
In full realization that I will be accused of being the "anti-Fun" police, I am moving the extraneous material from the RFA here. Please bear in mind that, despite the fact that we are very open and flexible at Wikipedia, it is important to maintain a degree of integrity in the adminship process.
Once a nomination has been made, others who support the nomination are invited to place messages supporting the nomination in the "support" section. They do not belong in the nomination section, no matter how heartfelt they may be and regardless of whether the person expressing support would perhaps have liked to nominate the user in question themselves, or for that matter jointly with another user.
I have also moved some "oppose" votes here that were made in jest and later retracted when it became clear that there was genuine opposition. This has detracted from the clarity and seriousness of the process, and while adminship may still be "no big deal," it something that is deserving of a degree of respect.
In light of the fact that other irritating RFA trends have started out as isolated incidents and then become running (and tiresome) jokes, I am removing these in the hope that future RFAs will be treated with the respect they are due.

[edit] Extraneous nominations
Exir's nomination: Although I haven't interacted with Acetic Acid until recently, I have been long aware of his ability to handle personal attacks calmly. He is part of WP:WC and he never bites the newbies. I also think that he is very tolerant (he hates Who's neon question marks but he overlooks them anyway). Anyways, I think that he is an all-around good guy and will be the perfect admin--Exir KamalabadiEsperanza
I was supposed to co-nom this before the voting started, but I've been slow. I give my full, unconditional support to Acetic Acid's request for adminship, and I have no reservation whatsoever about his ability to be an excellent administrator. -- Essjay · Talk 02:25, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Oppose votes made for humor value
Oppose. I have changed my vote to oppose for no reason other than the fact that no one has voted oppose. AceticAcid is a shoo-in because he would make a good admin. AngryParsley (talk) (contribs) 22:12, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
Oppose per AngryParsley :) Borisblue 04:21, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- You can't do that! I was supposed to be the one guy who opposed this nomination! AngryParsley (talk) (contribs) 04:26, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- ... it might be a good time to remind you both that despite all of the informality and amiablity that ensues on Requests for Adminship, this is a serious proccess, not some kind of joke. --Sn0wflake 04:48, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- And how on Earth is he to make the record like that, eh? --Celestianpower háblame 08:24, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
