Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Winter Soldier Investigation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is not a "gotcha" page. It's not an RFC "on" or "against" anyone. I am literally requesting that my fellow Wikipedians comment on the following matter:

  • The Winter Soldier Investigation article has been blanked several times on the grounds that it contains many copyright violations. After repeatedly asking for a specific instance -- and being ignored, harassed; having the subject changed; etc. -- finally one signed in user and one IP user addressed my question. A passage was cited at talk:Winter Soldier Investigation, with book title and page number.
  • But one said the quote *IS* on that page, and the other said it *ISN'T*! Now, I'm not going to go to a library or used bookstore and settle this myself. I expect more competence and/or honesty from my co-contributors.

What shall we do about all this?

  1. The specific quote (which is, or is not, to be found where cited)
  2. The general issue of the article supposedly having many such instances

I certify that this is a problem - but I'm not going to use the gotcha template - I don't want action taken against a person, but rather a solution for the article. Uncle Ed 13:31, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
