[edit] Yaron1

Checkuser is required for Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Yaron1. (Most text copied from the case.) There is an ongoing edit dispute on Temporal Cold War with User:MikeJ9919 and others. Both accounts have edited the same two articles and only those articles. The articles edited are both relatively obscure and not really connected: the series Weird Science and Temporal Cold War, which is a storyline within the television series Star Trek: Enterprise. Both accounts have under thirty edits (Gen99 has only six). Gen99, with no prior knowledge (unless he has been lurking extensively), no prior participation in the discussion, and no actual editing of the article itself, proffered his opinion on the long-ongoing discussion, one which was entirely in support of Yaron1. This was also made within thirty-five minutes of Yaron's posting. Iolakana|(talk) 15:38, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Please provide evidence of policy violations. Mackensen (talk) 22:14, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Per WP:SOCK: "In addition to double-voting, sock puppets should not be used for purposes of deception, or to create the illusion of broader support for a position." These would be the diffs in question: [1][2]. However, in fairness to Yaron, I said on the talk page that I did not believe this met the bar for Checkuser, which seems to be serious, repeated violations. I opened the sockpuppet case and thought a warning on pattern alone was likely, without referral here. While I strongly dislike sockpuppets, given the single incident and the fact that Gen99 seems to have gone inactive, I would understand if you declined this case.--MikeJ9919 22:34, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
