[edit] Jonah Ayers

This account is part of a chain of accounts that have been used by user:Jonah Ayers. He apparently uses them for a few edits at a time, and abandons the accounts even if they haven't been blocked. A range block on his known IP addresses (216.175.112.0/21, 216.244.0.0/21) hasn't succeeded. This request is to craft an effective range block, or any other information which will help in blocking this long-term vandal. See also the (incomplete) Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Jonah Ayers, which lists many of his known IPs.

Help would be appreciated. Will Beback 09:17, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Clerk note: All users except I♥checkuserism (talk contribs) have been indef-blocked who appears to have no contribs. --Srikeit (Talk | Review me!) 17:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Comment: "I♥checkuserism" is not the name of any registered user. — Jul. 4, '06 [17:49] <freak|talk>
    • Regarding "I♥checkuserism", apparently someone was making a joke.[1]. -Will Beback 18:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

        • Yes, clerks use search & replace to quickly fix when requests are filed without the correct template. Essjay (TalkConnect) 11:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Note: A couple notes first:

  • There are several newish accounts in the first range given, but none of them are listed here, and as such, I can't reveal any information about them.
  • The second range given doesn't appear to be being used by much of anyone; I checked 216.244.0.0/24 rather than /21, because that's what the system allows.
  • Several are not containted in the ranges given, suggesting new ranges or proxy use.

The IPs used by each are listed above. I don't see enough uniformity to suggest a rangeblock. Essjay (TalkConnect) 11:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the diligent research. -Will Beback 17:17, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
