[edit] User:Joestieg

Veyklaver (talk contribs) was recently indefinitely blocked for impersonation of User:Veyklevar. Veyklevar has been attacked in the past by Joestieg (talk contribs) (whose commercial spam he reverted), who has been linked by a previous checkuser to Ukiemob (talk contribs) and 24.61.27.114 (talk contribs). Both of the latter two accounts have been used again to delete evidence and attack Veyklevar. I believe that Veyklaver (talk contribs) is likely to be part of the same group of sockpuppets, and a checkuser would be of evidentiary value in pursuing remedies against that group (policy 8). (I previously posted a description of the vandalism/harassment to WP:AIV, where it was ignored; the problem began at the beginning of February.) Choess 04:57, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ukiemob (talk contribs) and Joestieg (talk contribs)

  • I ran across an edit war on Coca tea (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs), wherein Joestieg (talkcontribslogsblock userblock log) objected to the removal of a link to his website (which sells coca tea) and various other "fluffy" info by Veyklevar (talk contribs). In addition to reverting the changes, Joestieg persistently removed comments by Veyklevar on the article talk page and on his own talk page, including vandalism warnings. I attempted to mediate (see Talk:Coca tea) and Joe appeared to cooperate. I also proposed that this relatively short article be merged into Coca. Shortly thereafter, a relatively new user, Ukiemob (talkcontribslogsblock userblock log), all but one of whose edits are related to Coca or Coca tea, voted against the merger, but redirected Coca tea to Coca anyway; then he created a new article with the original content of Coca tea (including the link to Joestieg's web page) at Coca herbal tea and changed the Coca tea redirect to point there instead. When Veyklevar left a message on my talk page to alert me to this, Ukiemob deleted it from my talk page. Veyklevar has also pointed out that both 24.61.27.114 (talkcontribs) and 69.79.138.210 (talk • contribs) have very similar editing patterns to the aforementioned and are probably the same editor. I would particularly appreciated knowing whether Ukiemob is a sockpuppet of Joestieg, and also whether there is any connection between either of those users and the two IPs above. Thank you. Confirmed Ukiemob is a sockpuppet of Joestieg. 24.61.27.114 is the same person. Impossible to tie 69.79.138.210 to either. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 07:15, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
