- Code letter: F
Iasson is still permabanned by Sjakkale; see his block log; Armodios began by making this edit to Slavery in ancient Greece with edit summary Enough whith this fairy tale !!!! Slavery is a moderm term and does not fit at all in ancient greece. Use labour instead. rv to Ephestion version, which is Iasson's pet crank theory; see several of these sockpuppets.
He also redirected his talk page to Harmodius; the odd transliteration system is a mark of Iasson's puppets and Ephestion shares it.
Since he is evading his block, which is a community ban in support of an Arbcom decision, and using two different accounts to revert Slavery in ancient Greece, I'm not sure which letter applies. Septentrionalis 23:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Additional information needed. I'll need a recent confirmed Iasson sockpuppet to check against; since it was decided that the sockpuppet category was unnecessary, you'll have to find one. Essjay (Talk) 00:08, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Clerk assistance required: Nothing has been forthcoming, time to close. Essjay (Talk) 02:44, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Clerk note: Declined per Essjay. Daniel.Bryant [ T · C ] 03:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 160.97.4.204 of Iasson, 193.92.154.7 of Iasson, compared to Aldux and Faaaa
- 160.97.4.204 (talk • contribs • WHOIS • block user • block log • checkip)
- 193.92.154.7 (talk • contribs • WHOIS • block user • block log • checkip)
- Aldux (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- Faaaa (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
160.97.4.204 and 193.92.154.7 are confirmed sockpuppets of Iasson. Between Faaaa and Aldux, who do you think is more likely to use those IPs? Nakaroni 13:37, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Clerk note: OK, I deleted those explanations (well, moved to talk page) because I still don't understand what you want. Please make a simple request, such as "I used to edit as Faaaa and would like to be unblocked because I was wrongly labeled a Iasson sock puppet." The argument from the publicly known IPs is not convincing because there are many reasons why Iasson could have edited from an Italian IP in May and a Greek IP in June (two being, he was on vacation; or he found an open proxy). The checkusers keep records not available to the general public. Thatcher131 (talk) 18:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes. There are no clear evidences that Faaaa is Iasson. If Faaaa is Iasson, then the same can be said for Aldux. I want Faaaa to be unblocked because he was wrongly labeled a Iasson sock. Nakaroni3 06:24, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- It is a question of the validity of a prior check on Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Iasson (this subpage), which confirms Iasson and Faethon as the same user, along with questioning the arbcom mention of the One user or several?. Beyond that, Faaaa claims to be Faethon [1] by stating the version of their userpage should be ver 70827952, the one where it says "I am Faethon, not Iasson." --Kevin_b_er 15:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

- Have also a look at Iasson's block log, check the socks that were judjed as Iasson socks and compare them to Faaaa and Aldux. The below socks have been the cause of the reset of Iasson's ban timer, so it is reasonable to consider them as Iasson's socks:
- Gorbown (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- Another Iasson Sockpuppet (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)

Whats happening with this checkuser request? By the way, have a look at this. Iasson is still confusing admins. Thryduulf lock-protected Iasson's userpage and talk page. The reason given:"Protected User:Iasson: Iasson is a proven prolific sockpuppeteer who seems to want attention. The page was deleted by request of a one-edit user (highly suspiscious imho) before I restored it." The strange thing is that, as can been in the history of the page, there is no request for deletion by a one-edit user! And how is that possible, a one-edit user to delete a page? Whats happening there? Is Iasson's userpage haunted and some admins are watching ghosts? And why Thryduulf admin insists of keeping the trashy unencyclopedic contributions of this indefinetely banned user? Nakaroni3 07:02, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Declined. Both Faethon and Iasson are banned. As far as I'm concerned they're the same user. This bizarre insistence that a user is a sockpuppet of Faethon, not Iasson, carries no weight whatsoever. Mackensen (talk) 12:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Iasson
- Iasson (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- Faaaa (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- Taso Lagos (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
The proofs against User:Faaaa are very heavy: consider that his two very first edits involved changing the tags on the user pages of 2 of Iasson's socks, making them socks of Faethon (name of a sock of Iasson), a typical obsession of Iasson's socks [2], [3]. He has also reverted one of the articles most attacked by Iasson's socks, Slavery in Ancient Greece. Also he has considerably edited Iasion, and Iasson's socks often edit articles with names near to those of past socks (or the original, in this case).
As for the second case, User:Taso Lagos, I'm not so certain; what made me suspicious were certain patterns that are similar to those of Iasson's socks 1) the brief span life (20 edits) - he introduced massive info and radically modified content, created 2 articles (Iasson's loves to create articles on obscure subjects) 2) habitual sloppiness 3) one of the articles Taso Lagos created Parallel Polis saw the partecipation of a very shortlived sock of Iasson, NoNames. Please control; I need to know if the material created can be trusted, or the 2 articles should be deleted as created by a sock.--Aldux 22:24, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Partially Confirmed. Faaaa is a sockpuppet of Iasson. Taso Lagos appears unrelated. Mackensen (talk) 18:20, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Iasson, again
Iasson is a permanently banned user reknown for the impressive amount of sockpuppets he has built. I'm pretty sure this is yet another one because of 1) his user page, where he calls himself "a close friend of User:Faethon", an ascertained sockpuppet of user:Iasson. 2) he has reverted Slavery in antiquity, an article that Iasson's socks have been constantly vandaliziong with erroneous info 3) hints of what may become stalking against me, a thing Iasson's socks have been applicating quite extensively since I started blocking his socks (Bulgarians).--Aldux 15:43, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed. Hello, old friend. Mackensen (talk) 01:17, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- Are you sure that wikibreak was long enough? Thatcher131 (talk) 01:19, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- How could I not greet Iasson/Faethon? It would be like showing rudeness to Willy, or not acknowledging Lightbringer. Mackensen (talk) 01:37, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- You said "confirmed", and now everybody believes you! What makes you believe I am Faethon? Is it because I have similar IPs? And is this a reason to make the rest of you reverting my otherwise proper edits ? You are doing the same mistake arbcom did, and they created this mess. I am what I said I am, a public account sympathizer, nothing more or nothing less. If you think this is a reason to punish me .... Its impressive how new wikipedians blindly believe in this falsification of facts. Epafus2 07:56, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Iasson
- Iasson (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- ARrohetMeZemer (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
Self identified with previous sock.[4] The next proverb is Ai që ndërton me djersë, mbron me gjak. Septentrionalis 21:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Additional information needed. Perhaps it's just that I'm not familiar enough with Iasson, but I don't see the connection from the edit given. It'd also be helpful to provide an English translation when using non-English phrases that may not be recognizable to others. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 07:33, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Clerk note: ARrohetMeZemer's first edit was to AN/I claiming to have found public accounts based on Albanian proverbs [5]. Two editors immediately identified him as a suspected Iasson sock. [6] [7] Thatcher131 13:07, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed. That was the kind of support I needed to see. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 03:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think you are wrong! IOHO (In Our Humble Opinion) the next Proverb Public Account (PPA) is not going to have login:"Ai që ndërton me djersë" and password:"mbron me gjak".
- PPA inventors are going to choose a random proverb from the albanian proverb list, or even worst a proverb that is not inside your list at all!!! Only Albanian people are able to distiguish and use albanian PPAs. Albanian PPAs cannot be defeated by an english speaking administrator, like Essjay.
- Please note that, we, the Faethonians public accounts, dont like at all PPAs!
- PPAs, in contrast to our beloved and innocent Faethonian public accounts, cannot be used by anybody, but only by a group of people speaking the same argot or language. This is somehow a discrimination against the rest wikipedians. PPAs are suspicious for cabals breaking out in wikipedia. Thats why Faethonians are planning to cooperate and help authorities in their fight against PPAs. FaethonAs 00:16, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Iasson
- Iasson (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- KymeSnake2 (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
KymeSnake (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser) was blocked as a sock puppet of Issson[8]. Same edit concerns[9] (Slavery in antiquity) as KymeSnake[10]; has edited User:KymeSnake, the previous sockpuppet of Iasson, to say that KymeSmake is Faethon (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser), another sock of Iasson.[11][12] Septentrionalis 02:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- Also, like Iasson, KymeSnake2 has his own ways of transliterating Greek. See the spelling of Pasion and Phormio here.[13] Septentrionalis 18:06, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- 193.92.154.7 (talk • contribs • block user • block log • checkuser)
This IP is also with every probability a sock of Iasson. This is proved by the fact he also edited User:KymeSnake and edited this archived discussion on Faethon being a sock of Iasson.--Aldux 15:53, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- There is a big misuderstanding here. We are Faethon, a public account operated by three or four friends. One of us knows Iasson personnaly, because he was his comrade in the same job. Iasson is another user, not related at all with public accounts. His password has always been secret. Actually Iasson left wikipedia a long long time ago and never come back. The point is that some stupid persons, for unknown reason, accused our public account of beeing Iasson, and as long as Iasson did something wrong and was banned indefinitely, they want to ban us too. This is tottaly unfair, so we are asking once again, to reconsider and stop this fallacy. Faethon and the rest series of our public accounts (created because some people banned us or changed our public password) are not punished yet [14], only Iasson is [[15]. So either judge us separately , or leave us alone. This is serious, not fun. After all this years we are realy tired of this situation. thank you. KymeSnake2 20:57, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Comment from passerby: Public accounts are only allowed by explicit permission of the higher-ups, if I remember correctly. - Corbin Be excellent 18:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed. *Sigh.* Mackensen (talk) 02:23, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Is this an Iasson sock?
- Iasson (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log)
- KymeSnake (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log)
- If Iasson is too long ago, he has other socks (Category:Wikipedia:Suspected sockpuppets of Iasson); and there are anon edits in the history of Douleia (now a redirect) with the same substance.
KymeSnake edited Slavery in antiquity, using the same language and making the same claims, as Iasson.[16] As Macrakis remarks[17], this is exactly the same wording as the reverting anon on Douleia. Please confirm whether this is Iasson, who is banned. Septentrionalis 21:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 06:58, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 160.97.4.204 of Iasson
Three edits, two to the same article and PoV as Iasson's last sockpuppet, one changing a Suspected sockpuppet tag on one of his previous puppets. Septentrionalis 05:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 09:06, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
