[edit] GallifreyanPostman

  • Code letter: C (I think)

GallifreyanPostman had been blocked by Alphachimp for a period of 48 hours because I happened to notice an article called "October 20, 2006 mass suicide" (the contents of which have been moved here User:Alphachimp/bad because of my request after noticing a pattern) was a hoax article. I've connected GallifreyanPostman to the two above IPs, which have at some point vandalised Wikipedia (I have evidence on my user page). If I can confirm that GallifreyanPostman and either of the IPs I've noted above are one in the same it'd be a help since I'd like to bring this to the attention of Wikipedians so that edits by this user and any of his/her IPs may be doubled checked. I have a hunch that another IP may be related, but since I don't have conclusive evidence I won't request that that IP be checked too. Sapphire 04:29, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Clerk note: Per checkuser procedure, code C - "Ongoing, serious pattern vandalism" - needs to be backed up "with diffs". Please list the applicable diffs on this page. Daniel.Bryant 10:42, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I was asked to provide my investigative work here. I've tried to organize it in a sensible way. Reading the comments from Daniel I don't think the vandalism is really serious, but it's very peculiar mostly changing a few words here and there within articles which make statements false. The most serious problem was creating the article that I've noted above, because it was a hoax article and could have possibly scared Wikipedia's users.
Note: I suspect the user and IPs may have a history of creating hoax articles, but since I don't have access all logs I'm not positive. Two hoax articles that I believe were created were Darren Martinez and October 20, 2006 mass suicide (Not positive on how he/she spelled the title). -- Sapphire 18:43, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I'd like to speak in my own defence by saying that I have made hundreds of useful edits and that Darren Martinez is a real person, although I can say that I did not make that article. I rarely use this user and I mostly use my IP address in case you wanted to know. GallifreyanPostman 21:16, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Evidence that indicates a connection between 84.68.226.151 and GallifreyanPostman
Inconclusive. Dmcdevit·t 18:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
