- Code letter: Other; see below.
Per this edit, the 200 account is responsible for an exceedingly offensive and racist attack directed at a family member of an administrator who has been targeted for harassment after involvement in events leading to a controversial block (see generally, WP:AN discussion; User talk:Timecop; for background to the offensive comments, see now-deleted earlier versions of User:HighInBC (click)). It is requested that a CheckUser determine whether any registered users are associated with this account. Although this may not fall within any of the designated "code letter" situations, it is submitted that the ongoing and extreme nature of the harassment warrant this check. Indef blocked User:SchoolingU made a similar, though less gross, personal attack on the same administrator[1] and may or may not be related. Newyorkbrad 19:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Declined. The checkuser policy does not allow for these kinds of checks; unfortunately, it does not allow for exceptions. You can take the matter up with the Arbitration Committee, which has more leeway in thier investigating. Essjay (Talk) 02:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. I understand the importance of adhering to the policy and will bring the request to the attention of an arbitrator. Newyorkbrad 02:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late response, but, having looked at this, 200.119.236.93 is an IP for a web hosting service, essentially an open proxy. So I checked SchoolingU and found the same, another open proxy. I've blocked both, but this means no connections are possible. Dmcdevit·t 21:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. We only can do what we can do, but in this kind of a situation we should do all that we can do. Newyorkbrad 21:19, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
