[edit] Introduction
In order to nominate yourself or another editor for adminship, you must first create an RfA subpage for the nominee, which will be done automatically when you follow the instructions in the appropriate section below. You will be taken directly to that page when you click the nomination button.
Once this RfA subpage has been created, the nominator must explain on the RfA subpage why this nominee would make a good administrator, and the nominee must accept the nomination on the RfA subpage before it can be transcluded to the main RfA page. This prevents editors from voting against candidates simply because they have not accepted the nomination or answered the questions. It also prevents both nominees and nominators from being embarrassed when a nomination is declined.
Note: It is considered good form to seek out the prospective nominee first before you create the RfA subpage and nominate them - if the nominee wants to wait or doesn't want to be an admin, creating the page may be a bit awkward for them, so please consider checking first.
Finally, once the nomination has been accepted and the questions answered, the nominee should transclude it on the RfA page when they are ready for the RfA to begin. Alternatively, the candidate may ask the nominator to do so. This is done by following the "edit this page" link in the appropriate section below and adding the template provided at the bottom of this page (with the nominee's name substituted for USERNAME) to the RfA page. Ideally, the nominee should do this when they are satisfied with their answers to the questions.
Do not allow voting or comments to be placed on the RfA nomination page until it has been linked to the main RfA page. This will prevent any controversy or allegations of unfair advertising of a given RfA.
Please note that the forms below apply to first nominations - if a nominee has been nominated previously, attempting to fill out the form will take the nominator to the previous nomination. To create a second nomination, simply put the number 2 after the nominee's username.
