Renwal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Renwal was a U.S. maker of childs toys, models, and dollhouse furniture from the 1940s to the 1970s. Valued for their bright colors, attention to detail, and relative scarcity, Renwal toys and accessories are now considered a highly collectible item.

Renwal pioneered the use of plastic for dollhouse furniture during World War II. Because wood and metal were being used for the war effort, they turned to plastic and found that they could create detailed, colorful furniture that intrigued a generation of little girls.

The rights to many items in Renwal's model toy line were purchased by Revell in the 1970s, and reissued under the Revell nameplate.
