Renukoot is a town and a nagar panchayat in Sonbhadra district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Renukoot had a population of 53,524. Males constitute 57% of the population and females 43%. Renukoot has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 64%. In Renukoot, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Trivia: Renukoot has the largest integrated Aluminium plant in Asia Renukoot is the southmost part of Uttar Pradesh and sits next to shakti nagar, anpara and some other towns close in Madhya Pradesh
Rihand Dam which is built over Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar lake and Rihand river which is a tributary of Sone river is 1.5 kilometers from renukoot and is also a trekking route for school trips from local schools. The importance of the dam can be gauged from the fact that its picture used to be present in the last version of the Rs100/- note of the Indian Government.
Renukoot lies in one of the most important Industrial belts of India constituting of Cement factories, Aluminium industry, Chemical Industrie, Hydel Power projects, Thermal power projects. To name a few there exists Hindalco - India's largest aluminium company, then in the same belt around some 40kms away is India largest NTPC plant.
