Renous, New Brunswick

Renous is an unincorporated community in northeastern New Brunswick, Canada; located where the Renous River flows into the Southwest Miramichi River. As of 2001, the population was 707. Renous makes up part of the local service district of Renous-Quarryville.
Renous is about 10 minutes from Blackville, NB and most of the children in Renous attend school in Blackville.
The community is the site of the Atlantic Institution, a federal maximum-security prison located on the site of a former Canadian Forces ammunition depot. [1]
