Renishaw Hall
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Renishaw Hall is a stately home which dates from the 17th century. It has been the family home of the Sitwells for over 350 years.
Additions were made to the building by Sir Sitwell Sitwell around 1800. The Hall is located south east of Sheffield and to the north east of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The present owner is Sir Reresby Sitwell, 7th Baronet Sitwell Of Renishaw. He is the eldest son of Sacheverell Sitwell, who was brother of Edith and Osbert.
Renishaw Hall is open to the public. It has a notable garden, including an Italianate style garden laid out by Sir George Sitwell (1860–1943).
