[edit] Speculation of authenticity

Many YouTubers have speculated that Renetto is actually a YouTube executive promoting the existence of and sustaining the YouTube community, thus promoting the video sharing platform on a whole. Some YouTubers deduce this from the fact that he is making public too much information of his personal life without worry. Furthermore, supposed family members keep on hacking into his account, introducing new and difficult scenarios into the storyline. [3]

Still other YouTubers think that these "conspiracy theorists" ought not worry about how much of his life he reveals. Apparently the path to becoming an Internet celebrity was accidental. While surfing on YouTube with a new MacBook Pro, Robinett decided to try uploading a video for himself. Using the camera in the laptop, he made a video in the character of Renetto, the name of a current business project of his. Soon, 'Renetto' was posting more frequently. Robinett has put his family online (including his kids and his dad soon after forgetting to pick him up from the airport).
