Jason Bothe (born October 8, 1972), better known as Renee Renee, is a Canadian musician from Vernon, British Columbia. He is wedded to Shar Michelle.
[edit] Early life
Bothe received a Michael Jackson singing microphone from his father when he was 6. Bothe was a fan of the Beach Boys and used to memorize their songs and sing along, when he was 8 he got up on stage with a Beach boys cover band and sang along with them. A sportsman, he can be characterised as the 'anti-jock' that killed the jocks at their own game. Setting records in both triple jump and high jump, as well as playing basketball, rugby and volleyball. After this Bothe begun to take a keen interest in skateboarding, and is now well known for his involvement in the extreme sports scene, and you can find him in numerous skate/surf/snow videos. He also grew up with a fascination for art, winning a contest for a painting he did in grade three and these days his paintings are quite sought after (Prince of Thailand and Tommy Chong both owning pieces). He also designs clothing, and went to fine arts college for a year, before dropping out. Bothe later starred in a film, Limp. He played a DJ named Gus who was discovered by an ANR guy played by the late Micheal Hutchence from the Australian rock group INXS. Micheal took Bothe aside, telling him he had a great voice and should do something in music, this was a big inspiration for Bothe. His multiple talents are also coincided by his multiple personalities, J.D the 'diesel and dirt' lovin' Texan and the very wealthy and dapper Charleston.
A renaissance man, Renee 'Jason Bothe' Renee has his fingers in everything.
[edit] Music
Bothe has always been involved with music and is well known for his friendship with blink 182, he can be found in the music video for "First Date" as the slide manager who 'feels up' the three members at various intervals of the clip. Renee Renee's debut solo album 'White Heat' is released summer 2006, and is already available on iTunes. His un-generic music is catchy mix of hip-hop, rock and pop. The diverse album features former blink 182 frontman and +44 singer Mark Hoppus as he lends guitars and vocals to the acousto-electro jam "Paper Doll". Skateboard legend Danny Way lends rock-charged guitars on the title track "White Heat" and boss level lyrics flow courtesy of Cash Money Millionaires recording artist Curren$y on "Got Back" and "Follow Me". Apart from his solo project Bothe fronts the rock band Black Lip, a band he formed with Danny Way.
