Rene Jarry-Desloges

Rene Jarry-Desloges (1868 – 1951) was a French amateur astronomer who worked at his own observatory.

He observed the planets, and was able to confirm the rotational period of Mercury, which was first deduced by Giovanni Schiaparelli.

A crater on Mars is named in his honor.
