[edit] MusicBrainz artist links
I took out the batch of individual MusicBrainz artists links added by CyberSkull as per What Wikipedia is not, i.e. a mere collection of external links. If there's some sort of precedent or similarity where collaboration/tribute/various artist albums have artists linked to in this way, I'd be glad to revert all of those links back, but otherwise, I feel they not necessary for the content of the article. If there is a way to add them without taking up more space in the article, like in the Personnel section, I believe that might be allowed, but I couldn't be sure. Any clarification is good. - None of those artists have their own wikipedia pages, so I put links in to their bodies of work. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 01:44, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- I don't want to get into any editing war over it, but I think my rationale is pretty clear; needlessly adding external links is something I mistakenly did myself when I had first started editing. The artists involved in this project can all be found from the project site, as well as OverClocked ReMix itself and also the "Relics of the Chozo" MusicBrainz album link already provided thanks to your efforts. Doing other WikiProject Album edits, I don't see where other artists in soundtracks and other albums with large amounts of artists have 5-25 external links covering each artist. Considering that the VGM arrangement community is not mainstream, I think the best that can be done is listing their names in full like I've done in the personnel section, having the very appropriate MusicBrainz album link and not subsequently bloating the external links section with every single artist having their own MusicBrainz artist link. Like I also mentioned, if you applied the rationale of artists MB links for every OC ReMix project, you'd start getting into cases where there would be 20-25 external links for artists, which is not needed. Even with 7 or 8, it's not needed. Liontamer 05:13, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] November 15th, 2005?
It's only November 10th as I'm writing this. I don't know the exact details, myself, but I surely hope somebody fixes this date up. Sure, in five days it won't really be a real issue, but it's still not right for the time being. -D14BL0
- My fault when updating the torrent info, but it'll resolve itself like you mentioned, so I don't care to edit it. No harm, no foul. Liontamer 05:13, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
