One year after his leading lady (and fiancée) commits suicide, Alex Dennison (played by Robert Preston) is left heartbroken and suspicious. Believing she was actually murdered, he gathers the cast and crew of his last play in an old Broadway theatre in order to find out what really happened that fateful night.
