What do you think of making "Template:Regional-arch-closed" where we use something like Template:Cold War but default it to closed so that articles like Incan architecture could include this template without being too huge... thoughts? gren グレン 05:55, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

• Didn't understand, what is "closed" - agree that this template will get too big. Suggest 7 continents to have their own title page for other articles, like Medieval architecture introduces Romanesque and gothic. These articles acan be added to this series - Mughal architecture, Bermudian architecture, Singaporean architecture, British architecture. — dogears (talk) 04:22, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

• I think Grenavitar is saying that the template should be able to be opened or closed allowing for more information in a more compact space. Dividing groupings would be probably by continents, Africa, Europe, East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North America, South America, etc. So far so good though. • Another good example of a template that has hide/show is Template:Pritzker Prize Winners. I haven't seen any that aren't 100% of the width though. DVD+ R/W 20:16, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

• I've experienced some problems with this template in articles that use images - it's too long vertically and will only expand as time goes on - so I'm proposing something like this alternative:-

Would people prefer this panel to be 'open' or 'closed' when an article is viewed? --Mcginnly | Natter 09:26, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

If used at the bottom of the page, open is preferred. What's the difference in the wikicode? (both examples look closed with my browser).

There could be a small, graphic "shortcut" box at the top right corner of all articles that has a # link to the template in a specified section of the article (eg. "References"). This would provide a consistent icon at the top of the articles to identify it briefly as part of a series. See example (to replace the existing template & create new Template:World-Arch for the World Architecture Series infobox). Dogears 17:21, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
