Regulus (also known as Bulzeeb) is a villain in the computer game series Bomberman, first appearing in Bomberman 64 as Regulus, and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack as Bulzeeb. He wears blue, and later black armor that closely resembles a jet in shape.

[edit] Appearances

Regulus has made 2 main appearances in the series.

[edit] Bomberman 64

In Bomberman 64 he appears (as Regulus) as an insignificant boss very early on in the game, and has little actual dialogue. The fight is similar to the other Bomberman sized bosses, he only uses bomb kicks with the special ability to dash towards you and strike with several arm slashes, easy to dodge but automatically kills when it connects (unless you have an extra-life heart). However, what distinguishes Regulus from the other bosses of Bomberman 64 is the fact that he does not die, but instead flies away after being defeated. Regulus appears again in the game to rescue his master, Altair, from death. In the true ending, Sirius intercepts Regulus and kills Altair, possibly motivating Regulus to help Bomberman defeat Sirius.

[edit] The Second Attack

In The Second Attack, Regulus makes a second appearance. As Bulzeeb, an Astral Knight for the B.H.B Army, he has a much more important role in this game, as well as a significant amount of dialogue. He is the only knight who resisted Rukifelth's brainwashing, and cares more about settling his rivalry with Bomberman than Rukifelth's plans. While confident that he is the only one who will defeat Bomberman, he saves Bomberman from Zohina (a fellow B.H.B Astral Knight) and kills her to assure it. In this game he is an optional boss (needed for the secret ending), he is also much more powerful than he was in the last game. He now uses darkness and gravity attacks, all of which infilict twice as much damage as most of the other knights' attacks, and even two special attacks that cause instant death. Near the end of the game gives his remaining power to save Bomberman, before being killed by Rukifelth. In the Good Ending, the Angel of Light and Darkness resurrects all of the Astral Knights, including Regulus. He claims that he will eventually settle his rivalry with Bomberman, but he hasn't appeared since.
