Wayne attended John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana, where he was a two-sport standout in both football and track. In football, he was a two-time All-State honoree, and as a senior, caught 50 passes for 930 yards (18.6 yards per reception average) and 10 touchdowns. [edit] University of Miami and Indianapolis Colts

Wayne was drafted by the Colts out of the University of Miami with the 30th pick in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft. In the beggining, Wayne was drafted to serve as second fiddle to Marvin Harrison. After his contract ran out, the Colts offered him a 6 years, 39.5 million dollars contract to remain on the team.

[edit] The Breakout

Due to the constant double-teaming on Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne has become a permanent target for Peyton Manning in late game situations. During a game against the Denver Broncos earlier this year, Wayne recorded his best game to date. He had 10 catches for 138 yards and 3 touchdowns. However, the most amazing part of his stats is that he recorded 6 of his catches, 76 of his yards, and 1 of his touchdowns on a single drive.
