[edit] Redding the band
Hello Reddingmusic. Thank-you for your question.
When a term could be the title of more than one article, we have a disambiguation page.
If the term has a prevalent meaning, then the article for that prevalent meaning can take the name of the term itself, with the disambiguation page given the name of the term followed by "(disambiguation)", for example Rome, Rome (disambiguation).
If the term does not have a prevalent meaning, then the disambiguation page takes the name of the term, for example Reading.
(See also Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Page naming conventions.)
In this case the term "Redding" could refer to multiple pages, but none of them has been thought to be prevalent, so the disambiguation page has been given the name of the term. In the case of a band called "Redding", my feeling would be that this would not be the prevalent meaning, so you would probably be best using a qualified name for the article.
Taking the band "Oasis" as an example, we see that the name of their article is Oasis (band), and that article is linked from Oasis (disambiguation). So an appropriate name for an article about a band called "Redding" might be Redding (band). (If you click on a red link it will take you to a page where you can enter initial content for an article.)
Once you have an article in place, then you may want to consider editing the article Redding to add a link to your page.
I hope that answers your question. Duckbill 10:45, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Hello again. I've made an edit on Redding to make the link to "Redding (band)" be more in-keeping with the style for disambiguation pages. Based on my interpretation of normal Wikipedia practice (see Wikipedia:Disambiguation, Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)), the link should go at the end of the list.
