Red Dragons are the most powerful of the fictional Dungeons & Dragons chromatic (evil) dragons. Red Dragons have played a prominent role on the cover of a number of Dungeons & Dragons books including the first edition of the Monster Manual, the Draconomicon and the Dungeons and Dragons Basic Rule Set 1.

In the AD&D universe a Red Dragon's breath weapon is fire and they live near mountains & volcanoes.
