[edit] Plot summary

Red & Kitty wake up and she reminds Red that it's his birthday only to see the ceiling cave in on their bed in front of them. Eric gives him a 2 X 4 for the roof, Hyde gives him booze from Donna's parents cabinet, Laurie gives him $7 of the $20 that Kitty gave her to get him a gift, and she gets underwear. Kitty then tells him that Bob & Midge are going to take him out to dinner, much to his displeasure. At dinner Bob and Midge each show up with their own dates. Midge brings the therapist, Ted, and Bob brings Carol, who loves horses. Ted brings up a topic that's deep and tells Midge that it might be too deep for her telling her no offense. Bob then yells at him not to insult his wife and he starts to kiss her hand, so they leave and go have sex in the car. Red calls for the check and hands it to Ted. After getting home Red expresses his displeasure with the stupid way Bob & Midge are acting, but Kitty reminds him they still have two hours left. Red wants the day to be over, but Kitty tells him that its not just about him but birthdays are for the people who love you and want you to have a nice birthday. Red & Kitty go down to the basement, after seeing Fez, Hyde, & Kelso watching TV in the living room, and have sex afterwords eating corn chips that actually belong to Fez.

While Hyde is getting Red's gift Bob & Midge are exchanging mean messages on the dry erase board leaving Donna to tell Hyde that her parents are freaks and she's sorry he saw that. Hyde reveals that he understands what Donna is going through because his parents have already split up. Donna then tells him they're sleeping in different bedrooms and dating other people. Later the gang is the basement, except Donna, talking about how annoying her parents are. Hyde reveals what Donna said expecting that Eric already knows, but he doesn't. Jackie asks Kelso if he keeps secrets from her and he hesitates so she takes him out to the van and talks to him. That night Eric tries to get Donna to talk to him, but the action from Donna kissing him is so great he keeps getting distracted. Later Eric tells Hyde that he's upset that Donna only fools around with him but tells Hyde stuff. Hyde tells him that he's upset that Eric gets to fool around with the hottest girl and never has to talk about her feelings. Kelso expresses that he hates hearing Jackie talk about hers when Fez tells him that he doesn't know what he has until he loses it. Naturally he doesn't understand and Hyde tells him to put on a football helmet, calling it the stupid helmet. Then Fez tells him if he doesn't take care of Jackie he'll loose her which he thinks is just stupid. Eric goes to Donna's and tells him he's not mad at her anymore for telling Hyde stuff and not him. She gets upset that first he's mad at her and second that they were talking about her. Donna then tells him that her parents are on a date right now with other people. After hearing Bob & Midge come home and tell them they had sex but still aren't together Eric is left speechless, which is why Donna never told him in the first place, but she appreciates that he cares.
